A message from the president: Welcome & Welcome Back!

Welcome & Welcome Back!

There’s something about the start of a new school year that offers a sense of hope, renewal, and promise through new beginnings. This year, that sense is heightened as we welcome our new Superintendent of Schools, Rob Banzer, along with over 40 new staff members!

It was my great pleasure to attend the New Teacher Orientation last week as the District welcomed 26 new teachers to probationary or long term leave replacement positions. The sense of promise shone brightly on the faces of those teachers eager to begin the 2015-2016 school year. For some of them, this will be their first teaching assignment, and for others, a new beginning in another school district. Regardless of their background, they all have one thing in common—the desire to reach and teach the children of our community. There is no greater profession, or perhaps vocation, than that of an educator, and we are all educators! Whatever our individual roles are within the school district, we all have the awesome responsibility, both individually and collectively, to shape the minds, hearts and souls of future generations, as we teach, and care for, our students.

In addition to doing all that we in education do during the summer months to prepare for the upcoming school year, I hope that you have had the opportunity to take some time to relax and enjoy a well-deserved break. It is through that relaxation that we are renewed and rejuvenated and ready to meet whatever challenges we may face in the new school year!

So, as we begin a new school year, I wish each and every one of you all the best for a smooth transition back to school and much success in the days, weeks and months ahead.
