The Governor’s Common Core Task Force will be holding 5 public hearings on Friday, November 6. The Friday locations are New York City, Long Island, Finger Lakes, Capital Region and Hudson Valley. Information on the specific locations and how to sign up to testify is available at https://www.ny.gov/common-core
While this is very short notice, teachers, parents and other interested community members are encouraged to attend the hearing in our area and testify on what is needed to fix the current system.
The Long Island hearing will be held at Stony Brook University on Friday, November 6th from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m***. (***UPDATE: This time was updated from an earlier email)
Additional dates and locations for next week are expected later this week at the same website. We expect meetings in Central New York, Western New York, North Country, Southern Tier and Mohawk Valley.
If you cannot attend and offer in-person testimony, you may submit your
comments to the Task Force on the website, at the link above.
