CONTRACT NEGOTIATIONS
UPDATE # 15
WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 22, 2010
The UTN Negotiations Team met with District representatives Terry Bouton and Kathleen Molander, as well as Board Counsel John Gross, yesterday afternoon. An in-depth discussion occurred and follow up conversations are expected over the next week. UTN members are encouraged to check the UTN website at www.unitedteachersofnorthport.com/utn over the holiday recess for possible updates.
Despite the low temperature, a substantial number of UTN members participated in a brief “Unity Walk” outside the Laurel Avenue School just prior to the commencement of yesterday’s session. Several retired UTN members also offered their support as they joined our walk. Our presence was known not only to the community-at-large, but to the Board of Education and District Administration. Once again, we have demonstrated that we are the United Teachers of Northport, we stand TOGETHER, we stand UNITED and we stand STRONG!
On behalf of the UTN Negotiations Team, I would like to thank you, our membership, for your continued support! Your attendance at, and participation in, our various solidarity events has been greatly appreciated. In the new year, more information will be disseminated by the Action Team regarding future solidarity activities. Maximum participation in those events will prove crucial in our
quest for a fair and reasonable settlement.
I would also like to extend my best wishes to you and your families for a peaceful and peace-filled holiday season and a new year filled with health and happiness.
